Purpose
The cloth guider keeps the web edge straight and guides it crease-free to the set position.
Design
Cloth guiders are always used in pairs. A cloth guider consists of the following units:
- a fixed roller
- a guide roller
- a pneumatic valve with sensor lever
- a mounting bracket
- a finger guard
- a pneumatic control unit
- an edge holder
Operating principle
The cloth edge is mechanically detected by the sensor lever. If the web edge moves away from the set position, the sensor lever actuates the air valve and the guide roller presses on the locking roller. Due to the diagonal arrangement of the rollers, the web is drawn to the outside until it is returned to the set position. The valve cuts off the compressed air, the guide roller opens and the web is released again.
