Common materials for printing and dyeing machinery

The metal materials commonly used in printing and dyeing machinery are steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. Rigid and cast iron are pure iron and carbon alloys, both iron and carbon alloys. In addition, they all have small amounts of impurities such as silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, etc.

The difference between rigid and cast iron is mainly according to their carbon content. Carbon content below 2% is called steel, and more than 2% is cast iron. The content of silicon, manganese, phosphorus and sulfur in cast iron is also higher than that in steel. Generally speaking, compared with cast iron, steel has higher strength, better plasticity and can be forged, but at a higher price, cutting and casting process performance is worse than cast iron.

There is a great relationship between the properties of steel and the content of elements in steel. Different kinds of steels are different because of the difference of elements and their contents. Carbon is one of the main elements in steel. With the increase of carbon content, the strength and hardness of steel also increase, but the plasticity and toughness decrease, and the weldability decreases.
